About Us
Nestled just behind the Interpetive Center you are literally a minutes walk from restaurants, convenience store, library, interpretive center, playground and of course the famous 2km sandy beach that is Providence Bay.
Our cottage is located in beautiful Providence Bay, Ontario on Manitoulin Island. Manitoulin Island is the largest fresh water island in the world with a rich aboriginal history of dating back as far as 10,000 BC. Providence Bay is a delightful village community situated on Lake Huron on the south shore of the island in Georgian Bay. It is easily accessible from Sudbury (less than 2 hours away) or from the Chi-Cheemaun Ferry as South Bay Mouth and the Ferry Terminal is only 25 minutes away.)
Providence Bay is renowned for the best sandy beach on the island, with an extensive boardwalk and a children’s play area. (not to mention a welcomed lack of mosquitoes and black flies)
Providence Bay is a unique to most areas in Northern Ontario in that there are virtually no black flies and almost no mosquitoes throughout most of the year. The annual Providence Bay Fair in August attracts thousands of visitors to the area. The parade snakes through the town to the delight of the gathering crowds.The Fair is held on the third weekend of August each year. Providence Bay also boasts fantastic cross country skiing and snowmobiling in the winter.
Another plus: it’s only 25 minutes from the ferry at South Baymouth.

We enjoyed out time in your home so much! We will be back for sure! He kids were very sad to leave, loved swimming and playing in the sand every day! My favorite part was getting up in the morning and watching the hummingbirds, I can sit there all day doing that! Enjoyed the fair, very fun! The kids had fun with our nightly fires and s ‘mores and hot dogs! Thank-you so much for everything! Your generosity will never be forgotten! I hope you let us come back! It’s a beautiful place!
Be ready to be blown away, the cottage is the perfect get-away cottage that we all dream of staying in. It’s spacious, very clean and trust me you don’t have to bring anything the host has got everything from utensils to egg beaters and everything that you would need to have a wonderful stay. Plus, the Northern winds help you sleep like a brick. We’ve haven’t had such a good sleep in ages. The host, Dean and his wife are the best. I’m definitely coming back with my friends. I highly recommend.
Absolutely fantastic cottage to rent! Not even a minute walk to the boardwalk/river for amazing sunsets. Rooms and property are immaculate. All the amenities you could ask for and more. Its also close to everything you need when staying for long weekends. Can’t wait to go back every year!
Dean and Robin’s cottage is such a delight for my family to visit each summer. The cottage is always spotless and ready for us when we arrive. The location is perfect – 2 minute walk from the beach, and not a far drive to many of Manitoulin’s most desired “hot spots”. Our 3 kids love the cottage – the rooms are so welcoming, and they love checking out the books and toys; not to mention the shed full of bikes and the sandbox and toys out back. Dean and Robin go above and beyond to ensure that we are comfortable during our stay. We look forward to any time we can spend here. Thanks, Dean and Robin!
We’ve been renting this beautiful cottage from Dean for 10 years now and we plan to do it another 10. This place is amazing, beautiful beach, beautiful sunset. Dean has this place very well organized you don’t have to bring anything with you it’s all there. The place is very cozy, roomy and has a beautiful back yard with a fire pit. He also has sand box for kids, bikes etc. Don’t hesitate to book as you won’t regret it you will want to go back
